Hey Sistas, so the other day I had some bananas that were perfectly ripe for making banana bread. But I decided I wanted to try something different besides banana bread so I made banana bars!
These bars are super moist like banana bread and the brown sugar frosting is what make these bars so delicious.
I like making banana bars because it makes a lot more then banana bread. They’re perfect for any get together or any season.
This recipe is super simple and easy to make. My family loves when I make them and they don’t last very long in our house.
- 1 C plain greek yogurt
- 1 1/2 C sugar
- 1/2 C butter
- 2 eggs
- 3 medium to large bananas
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 2 C flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 C butter
- 2 1/2 C powdered sugar
- 3 Tbls milk
- 1/4 c brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- Preheat oven to 375.
- Beat together yogurt, sugar, butter, and eggs until smooth.
- Add bananas and vanilla.
- Add dry ingredients, mix for about 60-90 seconds.
- Pour into greased 9x13 pan and bake in oven for about 30-35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
- Heat butter in pan over medium heat until its melted, pour in brown sugar and mix constantly until its boiling and the butter is starting to turn brown.
- Take off heat and immediately whisk in the rest of the ingredients.
- Spread on top of bars when still hot and set aside until the frosting is set.
Sincerely,
patti jean
