This wood block mod podge project is so fun and easy! This year, I was in charge of getting the craft ready for a girls camp for my church. The theme of the camp was “heart, might, mind, & strength” so those are the 4 words we used for the blocks but you can use any words you want!
All you need for this project is:
1. square piece of wood (we got a large 3.5 in. pieces of wood from Lowes and cut them into 3.5 in. x3.5 in. pieces)
2. mod podge
3. cardstock (I used a striped black & white cardstock for the background and white cardstock for the letters)
4. paint
Directions:
1. Paint the wood block a solid color and let dry.
2. Cut decorative cardstock into 3.25 in. x 3.25 in. squares. Put a coat of mod podge on the back and apply to one side of the block. Place another coat of mod podge over the paper and let dry. Repeat for all 4 sides.
3. Instead of buying gold cardstock, I painted my white cardstock gold and it worked out great. I cut out the words using my Silhouette Cameo. Put a coat of mod podge on the back of the words and apply to the center of the decorative cardstock. Put another coat over the words and let dry. Repeat for all 4 sides.
I hope you have fun with this project!
Sincerely,
shari jean

I love your lettering! This one is so fun and easy for each person to individualize! I’ve done this and embellished with flowers, bows or ribbon. Also, on the top it’s easy to screw in a small metal photo holder (the ones that look like a round paper clip) and later add a photo of the activity or party.
