Okay, I have been so excited to share with you these Chocolate Peanut Butter S’mores Bars! They are a total family favorite and probably our favorite camping/summer dessert.
Kai and I are planning a family camping trip to Yosemite and I am not going to lie I am a little nervous camping with the boys. Do any of you have experience with camping with littles? If you do and you have any advice for me please share! I will say though I am excited to bring these chocolate peanut butter s’mores bars with us. It makes having s’mores available to eat at all times which is my kind of camping. hehe
You know me, I love anything chocolate peanut butter. Just like these peanut butter brownie truffles. I have always love making s’mores with a reeses in the the middle so I thought adding peanut butter to my s’mores would be dang delicious and it total is!
These are pretty easy to make! I use marshmallow fluff and Giant Hershey Candy bars. The bottom and top crust is a dough mixture made out of graham crackers, butter, and sugars.
Once my dough is made I line a 8×8 or 9×9 inch baking dish with this parchment paper. I also spray it with cooking spray to double cover myself. I take half of my mixture and press it into my dish. I lay my Giant Hershey bars down on top. Then I take my peanut butter and heat it up in the microwave for about 15 seconds to make it a little easier to spread. Then I spread it around on top of my chocolate. *Here is a tip for using creamy ingredients like peanut butter. Before you put your ingredients in your measuring cup run it under hot water. It makes your ingredients not stick as much into your measuring cup when your duping it into your mixing bowl.
Then its time for marshmallow cream. I place blobs of marshmallow cream on top of my peanut butter layer. Then I take my spatula and spray it with cooking spray and smooth the marshmallow out evenly. The cooking spray helps so much with it not sticking.
When it’s time to place my last layer of dough on top I first lay it out on my parchment paper. I use parchment paper that has inches on it so that I can easily make it an 8×8 or 9×9 square of dough. Once its measured right I lay it carefully on top of my marshmallow cream. If any places break apart I just press it together again. Its ready to bake! Once done baking it has to sit I would say for about 8 hours. If I am making this for something at nighttime I will make it early in the morning.
