I brought this broccoli salad to a family dinner the other day and everyone immediately wanted the recipe. It is delicious! With the toppings of bacon, onions, raisins, and sunflower seeds mixed with this amazing dressing, you will be drooling.
Hint: If you want to make this a little healthier, you can use low fat mayo or olive oil mayo. Also, you can substitute in turkey bacon.
Broccoli Salad

Ingredients
- 8 ounces bacon
- Salt
- 5 cups small broccoli florets
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
- 1/3 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup sunflower kernels
Instructions
- Cook the bacon in a frying pan and then cut into small pieces.
- Blanch the broccoli in salted boiling water until bright green and slightly softened (3 minutes). Drain broccoli under cold water.
- In a large bowl, combine the mayonnaise, vinegar, onion, sugar and raisins.
- Add the broccoli and stir.
- Refrigerate for 1 hour.
- Add in the sunflower kernels and the bacon pieces and serve.
