DIY Cloth Pumpkins

September 21, 2015 By Shari

Today we are bringing you a fun and easy fall craft!  Do you have any old long sleeve shirts that you don’t wear anymore?  Then turn them into pumpkins!  These DIY cloth pumpkins are so easy that even kids can make them (they will just need help with the hot glue).

diy cloth pumpkins | www.sincerelyjean.comSupplies:

1. Long sleeve shirt ( I got mine at Goodwill for $0.99)

2. Green paint

3. Foam paint brush

4. Fiberfill (I got mine from an old pillow I had)

5. Twine

6. Rubber bands

7. Aluminum foil

8. 2 pens or pencils

9. Hot glue gun

10. Scissors

11. Mod Podge

12. Cinnamon stick

1. Cut the sleeve off of the shirt from above the wrist to right below the shoulder seam.

2. Flip the cloth inside out and paint the shorter end green (about 2 inches from the end).  Let it dry completely.

3. Cut 6 pieces of twine (4 the length of the cloth and 2 the length of the cloth plus 4 extra inches).  Put them all together and tie a knot at the bottom.

4. Put the twine inside the shirt (still turned inside out) with the knot sticking out the larger side of the cloth.  Use a rubber band to tie the twine and cloth together.

5. Flip the shirt right side up and stuff it with the fiberfill.

7. Pull and spread the top green end.  Fold the cloth back (as seen in the photo) and hot glue.  Fold again (as seen in the photo) and hot glue.  Now you have the leaves!

8. Take the longer twine and place it against the aluminum foil.  Use the foam brush to cover the twine in mod podge.  Wrap it around the pen or pencil and let it dry completely.

9. Stick the cinnamon stick in the center to create the stem.

Sincerely,
