DIY Curtains out of Sheets

November 4, 2015 By Patti

curtainsHey there! Today we bring you a very inexpensive and easy way to make curtains. I wanted white plain curtains for our house but didn’t want to spend to much money. I knew with having kids around the house and having white curtains would not mix well. So I opted for curtains, plain white curtains from Walmart that cost about 8 dollars. That way if they go stained or if I really didn’t like them that I could just trade them out but I ended up loving them and they were so simple to make.

IMG_5121Depending on the width and length of your window will depend on what size of sheet you need. Just make sure you get a flat sheet. I ended up buying a queen.

Layout your sheet with the back facing up. Starting at the top where the top is double layered cut slits every couple inches. Make sure you have a slit at each end of the sheet for the curtain rod. Then you can either cut your sheet in half or leave it whole. I did it both ways for my house and I actually think I like it one piece the best.

IMG_5437If it’s longer then needed you can hem it. Wash, dry, and iron it and then your done. Put your curtain rod through the holes and hang it up.

Your Done!

Enjoy your new, easy and inexpensive curtains.

Sincerely,

patti jean
