If you haven’t noticed lately, I am loving anything floral right now! You can check out my DIY Floral Chalkboard and DIY Floral Letter posts. Today I am bring you another great floral project. This DIY flower crown is so easy to make and it turns out so beautiful. They are perfect for young girls! It only takes 4 supplies to make them! Each one will cost you less than $2!
I originally was making these for my one year old daughter but she would not keep them on her head. She is in a stage where she doesn’t really like things on her head. She always pulls her bows out of her hair but I still put one in her hair everyday! I am obsessed with bows for her! She has way too many but they are just so fun! So since my daughter couldn’t be my model, I was able to recruit my friends beautiful daughter to be my model. Her photos turned out gorgeous! I just love them!
I made a video tutorial which you can watch below! I also wrote out the instructions below.
Supplies:
- set of silk flowers (I got mine from the dollar store!)
- grapevine wire
- thin green floral wire
- pliers or scissors
Steps:
- Measure about 1 1/2 times around the child’s head. This is how long you should cut the grapevine wire. Bring the ends together and bend the wire where the head would end. Cross the wire where you have bent it and twist all of the way up.
- Remove the silk flower from the stem and twist the green wire around the little green part that is attached to the flower. Then center the flower where you want it to the grapevine wire. Wrap that green wire around both sides of the grapevine wire so that it is secure. I used 5 flowers so I centered the first one directly in the center of the head and then evenly separated the other 4 on each side.
- Repeat until you have all of your flowers in place!
Sincerely,
shari jean
