Easy No Sew Baby Tutu Tutorial | www.sincerelyjean.com

Baby tutu’s are adorable and perfect for photo sessions!  Patti and I did my daughter’s newborn photo session by ourselves.  It saved me a ton of money and it was a lot of fun.  We could also take as much time as we needed.  I made this pretty white tutu for her photo shoot instead of buying one!  It was easy and inexpensive.  This easy no sew baby tutu tutorial will tell you exactly how to make one!  Try making one for your daughter or niece!

Materials:
1. 1/2″ Elastic (long enough to fit the waist)
2. Tulle

Amount of tulle needed:
1-3 months: 5 yards
6 months: 6 yards
12 months: 7 yards
18 months: 8 yards

Directions:

1. Cut your tulle into strips (*UPDATE 6/19/16: I made another tutu for my daughter’s first birthday (you can read the post HERE) and instead of buying tulle by the yard I bought 6″ spools.  The spools are much easier because you don’t have to measure the width when cutting.  Just change the below strips to 6″ instead of 7″.)
1-3 months: 18″ x 7″
6 months: 20″ x 7″
12 months: 22″ x 7″
18 months: 24″ x 7″

2. Create knot around elastic: fold strip in half, place folded half under the elastic, pull the ends through the loop, pull tight (remember to keep the ends even)

3. Repeat until you are satisfied with the volume of your tutu

Sincerely,
