Hey sistas! Today I am bringing you a simple yet delicious dessert recipe for the holidays! These Easy Peach Dumplings are a delicious combination of peaches, Pillsbury crescent rolls, brown sugar, butter, vanilla, and cinnamon. They taste like monkey bread but with warm peaches in the middle. Serve it warm with ice cream and you will be in heaven. My family loves it and I know yours will also!
Are you all stocked up on holiday baking essentials yet? Sam’s Club has a wide variety of General Mills products that you will keep you baking all season long! What type of holiday baking personality are you? You can see the four types of holiday baking personalities and Sam’s Club holiday recipes HERE. I am a traditionalist type of holiday baker. I like making my tradition, go-to dishes that my family loves. One of my favorite dishes to make is this easy peach dumpling recipe with Pillsbury Crescent Rolls!
- 1 can of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls (8 count)
- 1 15 ounce can of sliced peaches
- 1/2 cup butter (one stick)
- 1/2 brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- Unroll can of crescent rolls and lay them out flat
- Put 2 peach slices in each crescent roll, roll them up, and place them in baking dish
- Combine butter, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon in a small pot and cook over low heat and stir
- Continue stirring until butter is melted and everything is mixed evenly
- Pour the mixture over the rolls in the baking dish
- Cook at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until rolls are lightly brown
- There will be an excess of the sugar mixture so you can use a spoon to drizzle it over the rolls
- Serve warm over vanilla ice cream!
The holidays are all about getting together with family! I have so many wonderful memories of family traditions growing up. One of the traditions that we had as a family was baking treats to go out caroling to our friends and family. We would spend 1-2 full days baking tons of treats. We would then wrap them up on plates and put bows on them. We would spend hours going to houses all over town! We would knock, sing a few Christmas carols, and then visit for a little bit before piling in the car again to go to the next house. It was so much fun and something we all looked forward to. My dad started this tradition in our family and it always made him so happy to go out together. It was his favorite holiday tradition!
Another fun tradition we had as a family growing up is on Christmas Eve we could open two gifts. Those gifts were the same thing every year. The first gift was always matching pajamas from my parents! It was always fun to match my siblings on Christmas morning. My husband also had this tradition in his family and now that we have a daughter we have started to give her pajamas on Christmas Eve also! The second gift was a special Christmas tree ornament from my mom. She would pick something that was important from that year and get us an ornament to represent it. For example, in high school I played volleyball and my after my first year making the team she gave me a volleyball ornament. I still have every ornament from every year in a special box. I have started doing this same tradition for my daughter.
One more tradition that I want to share is that every Christmas morning we would have the same thing for breakfast…biscuits and gravy! I always looked forward to this meal! Every Christmas morning we met in my parents room when we first woke up. I was always the first one up and would wake up my 3 siblings. We would always read Jesus’s birth story from the bible before going down stairs to open presents. After reading from the bible, we would wait at the top of the stairs and my dad would go down first to get the camera ready to video tape us or take pictures. He would then count to three and then we would run down the stairs as fast as we could. We first saw what Santa gave us. Then, we would take turns opening gifts one by one. After all of the gifts were opened, we would have our yummy biscuits and gravy for breakfast! We would spend the rest of the day eating sweets and playing with our new presents.
What holiday traditions did you have growing up? We would love to hear in the comments below!
Sincerely,
shari jean
