Hey sistas! Sharing with you this St.Patricks Day Printable that I made for you! St.Patricks Day is in 13 days, so here is an easy decoration for you – just print it out and stick it in a cute frame.
Have you ever wondered how St.Patricks day got started, why we pinch eachother, and why Irish people want you to kiss them on this day?
Did you know that March 17 is the death date of Saint Patrick? This day commemorates him and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland. It also celebrates the heritage and culture of the Irish. People wear green clothing because St Patrick is said to have used the shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity to the Irish.
As for the pinching, it stems from the fun belief that wearing green makes you invisible to Leprechauns. Leprechauns would pinch anyone they could see. So, you are supposed to pinch someone who is not wearing green in order to warn and remind them about the Leprechauns.
As for the kissing, it comes from kissing the Blarney Stone. The Blarney Stone is a stone set in the wall of a castle tower and kissing the stone is supposed to bring the kisser the gift of blarney (talk that aims to charm, flatter, or persuade).
Well now ya know!
Here is the printable………All you have to do it print it on an regular sized cardstock piece of paper! Sooooo easy but cute!
As for the frame, all I did was paint an old frame white and then added green glitter.
We also think you will enjoy our Winter Bingo activity and our Winter Simmering Potpourri!
