Healthy Chicken Salad Recipe

chicken salad1You can cut out TONS of calories and fat intake by substituting greek yogurt!  Use the below chart we created as a guide.  (Click on the image for a printable version.) 
 Picture PictureTry our yummy chicken salad recipe below using nonfat greek yogurt instead of mayonnaise.  We will be substituting 1/2 cup mayo for 1/2 cup nonfat greek yogurt.  Take a look at the nutrition guides below (nonfat greek yogurt on the left and mayo on the right).  1/2 cup (4 ounces) of greek yogurt has 70 calories and 0g of fat.  1/2 cup (8 tablespoons) of mayo has 720 calories and 80g of fat.  This means you will save 650 CALORIES AND 80g OF FAT just by making this one substitute!!!

Ingredients
  1. 1 cup shredded chicken
  2. 1/2 cup nonfat greek yogurt
  3. 1/2 cup chopped green grapes
  4. 1/2 cup chopped apple
  5. 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  6. 1/4 tsp salt
  7. 1/4 tsp pepper
Instructions
  1. Mix all ingredients and serve with whole wheat pita. Enjoy!
