New Year Memory Jar

New Year Memory Jar

Today is New Year’s Day! Last night, Patti and I celebrated with family here in Las Vegas. We made homemade pizza and had a chocolate fondue fountain that we dipped strawberries, bananas, and pretzels into – yum! I am amazed that I stayed up past midnight haha…  We missed Shari!  She is spending the holidays in California with her husband’s family.

I love celebrating the New Year!  I take time to focus on the positive things that happened in the past and try to set new goals for the future. We all have 365 new days to make wonderful memories in the new year and that is so exciting!

Have you ever sat down to ponder the previous year and wish that you had kept some kind of journal? Ever try to remember the little moments that made you happy in the past? Well here is an easy and cute way for you to remember not only the big moments of the year, but also the little things in life that made your year great.

New Year Memory Jar

It is simple: Whenever you or your loved ones has a wonderful experience, write it down on a small piece of paper, fold it, and place it in a memory jar. On the next New Year’s Day, open the jar and have everyone get together and read the papers. How fun will this be?!

New Year Memory Jar

Here are the supplies that you will need:

Jar – Make sure that you choose a jar that can fit many pieces of paper. If you have multiple people contributing to the Memory Jar, you may need a bigger jar.

Paper – You can buy a bunch of cute stationary or just use plain white paper. Cut the paper into strips. You might want keep the cut up pieces of paper in a drawer nearby, so that it is easily accessible all year round.

Pen – It might be a good idea to tie a pen to the jar with some ribbon or yarn. That way people will always have something to write with.

New Year Memory Jar

We want to wish everyone an amazing year and hope that you have many wonderful things to put into your memory jar!
