Christmas is around the corner and I am so excited!  This peppermint candy and paper mache craft is so fun and easy!  Over the holiday break, kids will be out of school and looking for fun activities.  This is a great project to do with them.  It is very simple and only requires a few supplies.  Your kids can do most of it themselves but will need help with the hot glue gun.  They will also enjoy eating the left over candy!

Here is what you will need:

-Paper mache shape or letter (I chose an S because my last name starts with an S but you can chose any letter or shape.)

-Paint (I used red because it goes well with the candy.)

-Peppermint candy

-Red Hots candy

-Hot glue gun

-Ribbon (optional)

Steps:

1. Paint your paper mache shape or letter and let it dry completely.

2. Arrange your peppermint and red hots candy to where you would like them.  Don’t start gluing yet!  You want to make sure the candy fits and looks right before you glue.  I put my peppermint candy on the outside of my letter and the red hots on the inside.

3. Once you have arrange everything and like the look, hot glue the back of the candy to the paper mache.

4. If you want, you can hot glue ribbon to the back to hang it.

I hope you enjoy this fun little craft!  Happy holidays everyone!

Sincerely,

shari jean
