Hey sistas!
Hope everyone’s summer is going fabulous! I bet some of you are like me and are trying to look your best in a swimsuit this year. Being a fitness instructor keeps me in shape, but I am always tempted by sweets. So, today I am bringing you a nutritious recipe that combines two simple ingredients: Dark chocolate and the NEW Pure Protein Plus Bars.

Healthy Dessert Protein pops

Every day around 7pm I get a sweet tooth! So this week, I can just open my fridge and pull out these yummy protein bar pops to help keep myself on track for eating nutritious. I am loving this new protein product because it is high in protein & fiber, but low in sugar. It is also gluten free, GMO-free, and has no artificial sweeteners!  (PS, you can enter to win the sweepstakes with Pure Protein Plus Bars below!).

These bars come in four different flavors (Cookies and Cream, Mocha Brownie, Apple Pie, and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough), but for this recipe I am just using the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bars.  Here are the SUPPLIES you will need:

  1. One 10 oz bag of Dark Chocolate chips
  2. Wax Paper
  3. 1 box Pure Protein Plus Bars – Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (4 bars in 1 box)
  4. Cute straws
  5. Plastic Fork

Healthy dessert, low calorie, fiber

Here are the STEPS that you will need to take:

    1. Cut one protein bar into six pieces. Repeat for other three bars.
    2. Roll each small piece in your hand until it makes a round ball.

healthy recipe for dessert

  • Cut off the middle two prongs of the plastic fork
  • Place wax paper over a large plate(s)
  • Cut straws into 3.5 inch pieces
  • Melt the dark chocolate in a bowl (I put chips in the microwave for 1 min, stirred, and then at 20 second intervals with stirring in between – 2 minutes in total)
  • Use the fork to roll the balls in the melted chocolate.
  • Place on wax paper
  • Insert straws into chocolate pops
  • Cool in fridge for about 20 minutes

I also wanted to show you a photo of exactly where to find these protein bars, because no one likes walking around in circles at Walmart.
