Yay for SUMMER! We are so happy it is finally here and we are celebrating by enjoying the warm weather with some inspiration from the Walmart Summer BBQ Celebration Guide! Our first purchase was some yummy Halo Top® Fruit Pops! What is your favorite thing about summertime? Mine would have to be not having a demanding schedule. With no school or sports, it’s time to relax and have fun with lots of sunshine.
We love spending time together outside as a family, grilling, playing baseball, watching the sunsets, there are so many memories to be created. This year Walmart has come out with the best Summer BBQ Celebration Guide. It is filled with awesome summer grilling inspirations and treats! Check it out here.
Our boys loved fruit pops so when I saw Halo Top fruit pops on Walmart’s recipe guide and also saw that they have 50% less sugar than other leading fruit pops. I was sold! I really hoped that my boys would like them because they have all the real fruit, just not as much sugar. They are also only 45-60 calories per pop which is good for Kai and I hehe. I bought the strawberry and mango flavors, it was so hard to decide because they were so many to choose from. They also have coconut, lime and pineapple flavor! I think it is safe to say that my boys not only liked them, they LOVED them! They kept asking for more. It was the perfect treat to cool down with and feel refreshed.
One of my most vivid memories of my childhood was having BBQ’s. My dad was the king of BBQ’s and every chance he got he would invite others over to have one. We would have watermelon eating contests, games in the pool, and lots of delicious food. But the most important part of them was developing and creating relationships with the people that were there. So many friends were created! Summer provides so many great opportunities to be able to create memories with people. Being outside enjoying the fresh air and the company of others is what summer was meant for.
Do you have any go to recipes for summer? I love finding new recipes to create and try out on the Grill. I go through my cookbooks and put a post it note on all the ones I want to try for the season. Sometimes I think the hardest part about cooking is coming up with what to make. That’s why Walmart’s Summer BBQ Celebration Guide was so fun to look over. It has such great ideas of things to make. I am planning on making quite a few of the ones they suggested.
We are planning to spend most of our summer at the pool and finding fun activities to keep the boys busy. I like it when my boys play outside so finding outdoor activities will be a goal of mine. We have some trips planned to go see family, which I am so excited for! And we will be having lots of BBQ’s. Some fun times lie ahead and I can’t wait to start making memories! I hope you have such a great summer and if you have any great summer recipes for me to try, please share! Make sure to head over to the Summer BBQ Celebration Guide for some inspo!
sincerely,
