Who loves Oreos? We’ll we at sincerely jean LOVE Oreos and what’s better than having Valentine’s Day Oreos! Today we bring you a very simple but delicious recipe for Valentine’s day Oreos. They are two cookies sandwiched in between the perfect cream filling.
I am a big red velvet fan but I am even a bigger fan of easy red velvet cookies! And I don’t think these cookies could be any easier to make.
- 1 Box red velvet cake mix
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 Tbsp hot water
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp almond extract
- Preheat oven to 350.
- In large bowl mix red velvet cake mix with eggs and shortening until well combined.
- On a sprayed cookie sheet roll dough into balls. Make them all the same size. My mix made about 24 balls.
- Bake for about 10 minutes or until done.
- Allow to cool for a couple of minutes then transfer onto cooling rack.
- In a bowl use a mixer, mix shortening, butter, water, powdered sugar, and extracts until light and fluffy.
- Once cookies are cooled, flip one cookie over and pipe about two tablespoons of filling. Place the second cooking on top and press down just a bit.
- Continue with all cookies.
These are not only the perfect cookie for Valentine’s Day festivities but they also last a long time. I actually thought by the fourth day they were even better then the first. You can’t say that about a lot of cookies but these are spectacular.
Enjoy your valentines day with these Oreos!
Sincerely,
patti jean

We had a recipe similar to this growing up and I always loved them – but red velvet is even better! And lasting four days? These would be perfect around our house, I am one of the only ones with a sweet tooth in this house 🙂

These are so gorgeous – they seem so much more decadent than regular Oreos, but definitely equally delicious!
