This post has been sponsored by American Greetings. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Do you have any loved ones that you are celebrating this Veteran’s Day? Are they active or are they retired veterans? I am so thankful for the men and women who fight or who have fought for our country. Their sacrifices and bravery just leave me in awe. How are you celebrating and thanking your veterans?
We are celebrating with an American Greetings card from our local AAFES Exchange. They have the cutest thank you cards that are perfect for Veteran’s Day. Click here to find the closest Exchange near you. Their motto is to be the preferred retail and services provider for the military family through extraordinary customer experiences and value pricing. We love shopping there!
We also decided to thank our veterans by making them DIY Dog Tags. I wanted to make a fun and cute craft that the boys could be a part of. They loved helping me make them, and they are even more excited to deliver them.
My dad served in the military as well as my great uncle. My husband is currently serving as well. We are grateful for our experience and excited for our future experiences. We are excited to thank our service members with these DIY Dog Tags. I wrote out the step-by-step process on how we made ours.
1. Download this fun free printable HERE that you can easily print and cut out.
2. Once it is cut we took a piece of cardboard. You can use any kind of cardboard but we used some old cereal boxes because they are easy to cut through. Trace the dog tag shape on to the cardboard and then cut it out.
3. Glue your dog tag paper onto the cut out cardboard. Wait for it to dry.
4. Once dry, I took a hole puncher and punched it through the little hole of the paper.
5. String a piece of yarn or string through so that it can be worn around the neck like an actual dog tag.
6. Grab your American Greetings thank you card from our local AAFES Exchange. Sign your names and write your personal message. If you need inspiration check out what to write here. Your veteran will love it.
We are so excited to share our craft and thank you cards with our veterans on November 11th. Remember to get out and thank those who have served and sacrificed for us and this beautiful country that we are so blessed to live in.
sincerely,
